Saving Money without Trying
If there was one thing we all wish we could do, it would be to save money without trying. Sadly, saving money seems to take a lot of effort. Most people need a plan for saving money. What if you don’t have time to plan? What if you just want the money to save itself? Well, here is how you can start saving money without trying!
Save all your change
Okay, this tip doesn’t seem too hard, does it? You can easily save money without trying by saving your change. This will only work if you use cash quite frequently though. Make it a goal to use more cash and save all of your change.
Hide your debit card from yourself
How many of us are frivolous with our spending, but we should not be? If you want to save money without trying, it is time to hide the debit card from yourself. It is time to use cash envelopes and actually create a budget for yourself. Once the cash is gone, it is gone, which is the best thing about using cash! When you use your debit card, you may always feel like you have a little extra to spend.
Send a certain amount of money to a savings account
Want to save money without trying? It is time to send money to a savings account that you don’t see. When you or your spouse gets paid every week, send money to that savings account. Most people don’t miss $10 or $20 each pay period. This is an excellent way to save money!
Save your $5 bills
I have seen this floating around social media and it is pretty genius. It can be intimidating to try and save money, which is why saving $5 bills really works. Every time you have a $5 bill, you save it. Ouch, this one could hurt a little bit, but it is a simple way to save without trying. You can apply those $5 bills to anything you would like at the end of the year. Imagine how much money you could have saved, without even trying!
Do a no spend year
This is for serious savers only, but you will be able to save money without even trying! A no spend year means you don’t do anything frivolous this year. You only spend money on the necessities. Imagine how much money you can save when your family sticks to this commitment of a no spend year!
