Wendy’s Tips
- Serve with Ice Cream – To make it even better, eat your apple cobbler cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or pour some caramel sauce on top. The ice cream melting into the warm cake is the best combo ever!
- Spices: If you are out of nutmeg you can leave it out. Or, you can replace the cinnamon and nutmeg and use apple pie spice instead.
- Apple Pie Filling: Do you have a lot of fresh apples? If so, make your own apple pie filling and skip the canned kind.

The difference is that a cobbler has a cake or biscuit-like topping. And, is crisp has a sweet and crunch topping that is typically made with brown sugar and oats. I like both!
