Ingredients

This is an overview of the ingredients that you need to make this recipe. You can find the full list of ingredients in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Ingredients for a dessert recipe displayed: saltine crackers, pink candy melts, brown sugar, butter, Valentines sprinkles, pink and red M&Ms, and white chocolate chips.
  • Saltine Crackers – These are the base of the candy. Their neutrality and crunchiness absorb the sweetness perfectly.
  • Salted Butter – Using salted butter provides a depth of flavor that cuts through the sweetness of the white chocolate chips. Make sure to use good-quality butter for the tastiest results.
  • Light Brown Sugar – This is the backbone of your layers! The molasses in light brown sugar gives it that rich, caramelized flavor. Don’t substitute with white sugar as it won’t give the same gooey texture or deep flavor.
  • White Chocolate Chips – White chocolate chips add a creamy sweetness and provide the perfect canvas for your festive Valentine’s Day colors. You can also use a mix of semi-sweet chocolate chips if you like!
  • Pink Candy Melts – Pink candy melts make this treat extra festive and fun. If candy melts aren’t available, you can use pink-tinted white chocolate as an easy substitute.
  • Red and Pink M&Ms – What’s Valentine’s Day without M&Ms? Use red and pink-colored ones to add a festive, colorful touch that’s irresistibly fun.
  • Valentine’s Sprinkles – Make it sparkle! Add heart-shaped sprinkles, sugar crystals, or anything red and pink to give your crack candy its romantic, show-stopping finish.

FAQs

Can I use a different type of cracker?

Yes, but keep in mind that the saltiness and texture of saltines work best for this recipe. If substituting, choose a mild, crunchy cracker.

What if I don’t have candy melts?

No problem! You can substitute pink-tinted white chocolate or skip the pink drizzle altogether and stick with sprinkles and M&Ms.
