This homemade Hocus Pocus recipe requires only a few basic ingredients that you most likely already have on hand in your pantry. You may not even need a trip to the grocery store to make these fun brownies.

Substitutions
Candy Melts: If you do not want to use tempered chocolate for your topping, you can use candy melts, just make sure that you get the chocolate candy melts.
Chocolate Chips: I used milk chocolate chips but you can use any type of chocolate chips that your family likes.

How to Make Hocus Pocus Brownies
These rich and fudgy brownies only require six simple and quick steps.
Step 1: Preheat the oven and grease your pan
Heat oven to 325ºF (163ºC). Lightly grease an 8✕8-inch square metal baking pan with oil. Or line with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix your dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch and baking soda.
Step 3: Prepare your wet ingredients
Using a large mixing bowl, whish together sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Add in your cocoa powder and whisk until smooth and glossy. This takes about one minute of whisking.
Step 4: Combine wet and dry ingredients
Add flour mixture to cocoa mixture and mix, using a spatula, until combined.
Step 5: Add in your chocolate chips
Stir in chocolate chips gently.
Step 6: Bake your brownies
Scrape batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let brownies cool completely before decorating with chocolate ganache and sugar eyes.
