Mama's On A Budget

Slow Cooker Goulash

What if you’re waiting to make something delicious, but you don’t know where to start? Did you know that you can rely on your slow cooker to make dinner for your family tonight? Most of us have had goulash of some sort, but you’ve never had Slow Cooker Goulash like this one. This is my favorite. I serve with a side of garlic toast and it is the most amazing meal ever!

Slow Cooker Goulash

I have to say that this is one meal the whole family will love, even those picky eaters. I know it can be hard to feed little ones that have no desire to eat the food you cook. However, if you are tired of trying to make fancy dinners and just want to try something new for the family, then feel free to make this meal for them! They are going to love it.

Plus, let’s talk about how many leftovers this meal makes. You can make it for dinner one night and then the next day have leftovers. You will enjoy not having to cook the next day and everyone will have very happy tummies! This is one of those slow cooker recipes that I love.

How to Store Slow Cooker Goulash Leftovers

Let’s be honest, leftovers are amazing, but only if you store them correctly. For this type of meal, I scoop them into individual containers for leftovers. This makes a great meal when you don’t want to cook and you want everyone to eat the next day.

Each person can take out their own container, heat it up in the microwave and you don’t have to cook another dish. Just make sure that each container is airtight so that no bacteria can get in. You don’t want to ruin these leftovers.

How to Freeze Leftovers

Let’s talk about something fun today. You can freeze goulash, but you just need to make sure it’s in the right container. I always make two batches and freeze one batch. This makes dinner so much easier for me another night. I have a nice stockpile in my freezer too, which is pretty awesome. Whenever I don’t feel like cooking, I just pull out the extra meals I made before.

What to Serve With Goulash?

Once you make this meal, you may be wondering what you can serve with it. I mentioned before that I like to make garlic bread, but there are so many options when it comes to serving different sides. I wanted to share some of my favorite sides with you.

Vegetables

I have to admit that roasted veggies are my favorite. I just roast whatever veggies I have on hand. You don’t have to do anything fancy with the veggies if you don’t want to, you can even eat them raw and serve them with ranch.

Homemade Bread

Another fun side to serve if you don’t like garlic bread is homemade bread. I love slathering butter on my bread and eating it with goulash.

Also, you can add shredded cheese to the top of the pasta, which is also yummy. Parmesan cheese is an excellent option for eating with Slow Cooker Goulash.
