Ingredients
Cream Cheese – Reach for softened cream cheese. That way it can mix up with the other ingredients and become creamy in texture.
Brown Sugar – Light brown sugar is what I used since you are adding molasses to the dip.
Vanilla Extract – This sweetens up the dip just a little bit, which is nice.
Spices – Cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg are used to help bring in the gingerbread flavors.
Whipped Topping – So I used Cool Whip that I thawed and mixed in. The whipped cream helps to create a super velvety texture.
Variations / Options / Add-Ins
Sour Cream: To make it have a tangy component add in 1/4 cup of sour cream to dress up the flavor a bit more.
Variation 2: Add on some festive holiday sprinkles once you get your dip in a bowl. It will really add more of a festive look to the dip.
Variation 3: Use 3/4 cup of heavy whipping cream to make your own whipped cream. Simply add the heavy whipping cream to a bowl and use a mixer to whip it up to create stiff peaks. Once it is still peaks fold it in to the dip.

Pro Tips
- The cream cheese needs to be softened. If you forgot to set it out, leave it in the foil liner. Then use warm not hot water and soak for 5 minutes. Check and then add fresh water if it isn’t fully softened yet.
- Make sure to refrigerate the dessert dip once it is done, so that it can be a dippable treat.
Storage
This gingerbread dessert dip needs to be refrigerated. You can store it in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge. You will find that the dip does not freeze well as it will alter the texture once it thaws.
FAQs
Do you have questions about this recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions for this recipe.
The rule of thumb is only 2 hours. You will find after that 2 hour mark it hits an unsafe temperature and can begin to grow bacteria a lot faster. So make sure to keep it refrigerated for at least 30 minutes between the two hour mark.
Using a spatula to fold in the whipped cream is going to help keep it light and fluffy. Otherwise it can break down the whipped cream and it won’t have that ultra creamy texture.
Replace the brown sugar with powdered sugar if you would like. I find that the brown sugar adds a nice warm richness but you can easily swap with powdered sugar.
