Step 4: Shape the Oreo truffles

Once you have a ball shape, then use a small cookie scoop, portion the cookie dough into 1-inch balls and roll into a smooth ball.

Step 5: Freeze the Oreo balls

For best results, freeze the Oreo balls prior to decorating.

Step 6: Melt the chocolate

While the Oreo balls are freezing, you can melt the candy melts or almond bark per the directions on the package.

Step 7: Dip the Oreo truffles into the white chocolate and top with sprinkles

After you melt the chocolate, then you will need to dip each ball into the melted chocolate and tap to remove the excess chocolate. And then, place the cookie ball on the prepared cookie sheet and immediately decorate with sprinkles.

Step 8: Chill the Oreo balls

Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour or until firm.

Hint: If you are not using candy melts, but are using white chocolate or almond bark instead, I recommend tempering the chocolate or almond bark with a small amount of coconut oil or vegetable shortening so you have a small coating.
