Ingredients

  • 1 box dark chocolate cake mix prepared as directed
  • 16 ounces dark chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup raspberry jam divided
  • Assorted sprinkles some valentine themed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and place liners in muffin tins
  • Mix cake mix per box recipe, stirring in ½ cup raspberry jam
  • Bake and cool completely
  • Spoon out the center of each cupcake and fill with jam
  • Fill piping bag with frosting and pipe different frosting patterns of each cupcake

Notes

  • When filling the center of these cupcakes, make sure to use a spoon so that you don’t overfill them and make a mess. You only want to put in enough jam so that it is slightly visible on the top of the cupcake.
  • If you are having trouble getting the frosting to pipe properly, try microwaving it for a few seconds so that it is slightly softened. It should be much easier to pipe with then!
  • Be careful to not overmix your cupcake batter, as you don’t want your cupcakes to be tough.
