How to Make Caramel Apple Danish

This easy fall apple dessert comes together in just 10 quick steps. Don’t be overwhelmed by these steps, this dessert really is simple to make.

Step 1: Make the apple pie filling

Melt the butter in a pan or saucepan. Toss in diced apples, brown sugar, and apple pie spice. Bring to a boil to cook down the apples. Create your slurry (cornstarch and water) , make sure it’s  mixed together well and then add to the pan with the vanilla.

Step 2: Thicken the apple pie filling

Bring to a boil and then reduce to low heat allowing it to thicken as it cooks for 3-4 mins. Pour into a bowl and let cool while continuing the recipe.

Step 3: Make your cream cheese filling

In a small bowl, blend cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar.

Step 4: Roll out your crescent rolls

Roll out crescent dough. Slice into rectangles. If you are using precut rolls, roll it into a flat rectangle before you cut it.

Step 5: Spread your cream cheese mixture

Spread rectangles of dough with about 3 tablespoon of the softened cream cheese mixture.

Step 6: Roll your apple danish

Starting at the long side, gently roll and twist at the same time (slightly braiding) until the roll is  about 10 inches long.  Curl loosely tucking the seam inside.

Step 7: Fill your caramel apple danish

Arrange on parchment paper lined baking sheet. In the center place the backside of the spoon to flatten the hole for the filling. Add 1-2 tablespoon of filling.

Step 8: Bake your caramel apple danish

Bake at 350 degrees for about 22-25 minutes (until golden brown)

Step 9: Make your icing

Add powdered sugar and vanilla to the bowl. Next, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing it well. Add milk based on desired consistency.

Step 10: Ice your apple danish

Remove danish from the oven and let cool for 10-15 mins. Drizzle with icing & caramel serve and enjoy.
