- broccoli florets
- cauliflower florets
- shredded cheddar cheese
- red onion – sweet onions can also be used, but I think that red onions are best in this salad.
- cooked bacon – If you are using the bagged bacon bits, I like to saute them in a skillet for a few minutes to crisp them up.
- mayonnaise – greek yogurt is a great swap for the mayo if you want to make this dish a little healthier.
- sour cream – greek yogurt is a great substitute for sour cream if you want to lower the fat.
- apple cider vinegar – white vinegar can also be used.
- sugar – if you are watching your sugar intake, you can use your favorite granulated sweetener instead.
- Salt and black pepper

Hint: Make sure that you give the salad time to chill so that the flavors develop.

Storage – Store the salad in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Wendy’s Test Kitchen Tips
- While you can technically serve this salad without blanching the vegetables first. However, softening them a little makes them taste better in my opinion.
- You can also add other items such as sunflower seeds, pine nuts, raisins, or dried cranberries to suit your taste buds.
