Can you freeze pecan cookies?
These cookies can last for up to three months baked or unbaked as cookie dough balls. If you are baking these as frozen dough balls, add about a minute to your cooking time to ensure that they cook all the way through.
How long do pecan cookies stay fresh?
If left covered at room temperature, your cookies should stay fresh for up to a week. If you want to make the dough ahead of time, you can chill it in the fridge for up to three days. Just make sure you let it come to room temperature before baking.
Toast your Pecans for extra flavor
If you have a little bit of extra time on your hands, consider toasting your pecans before you add them to your cookie dough. Toasted nuts are going to be more flavorful, just make sure that you toast and then chop them. If you toast them while they are whole, you will have a much more even toast on your pecans.
Tips for Baking your cookies
Let your cookies cool completely on the baking sheet before you store them. This will help to keep your cookies chewy and soft. This will help them finish baking on the cookie sheet and give you a much better cookie in the end.
