Patriotic Blondies

Patriotic Blondies are sweet and chewy. This festive dessert is perfect for the summer holidays.

These homemade patriotic blondies are soft, chewy, rich, and bursting with a buttery flavor. These chewy dessert bars are great any day of the week, but to make these festive for the 4th of July, I added Red, White and Blue chocolate chips and M&M’s. You can never go wrong with adding chopped Oreos to any type of dessert.

With the 4th of July right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what we are making. I know this homemade blondie recipe is definitely making an appearance on our holiday table. Now that I think about it, I think I will make them for Memorial Day also.

What are blondies

A Blondie is a dessert cookie-style bar. It resembles a brownie, but instead of being made with chocolate, a blondie is made with vanilla and brown sugar. Blondies have a caramel taste which is so delicious.

Recipe FAQS

How do I store and freeze homemade blondies

Once you have made your blondies, you will need to allow them to cool completely to store them. Place in an airtight container or storage bag and store for up to one week on the counter. No need to put these in the fridge.
To freeze blondies, slice them to the size that you want to serve them. Once you have cut your bars, transfer them to a freezer-safe container or freezer bag. Freeze for up to three months. To thaw, simply place on the counter until warm.

If you cannot find red, white and blue chocolate chips, semi sweet, milk chocolate or while chocolate will work just fine.
