How to Make Air Fryer Nutella Pop Tarts

In a mixing bowl, the sugar, milk and vanilla. Set aside. This will be your glaze.

On a flat floured surface, roll out the pie crust and cut out 3”x4” rectangles.

Two rectangles make one pop tart. Place 1-2 tablespoons of Nutella in the center of a rectangle and spread it out leaving a 1/4” edge.

In a cup or a bowl, beat the egg to create an egg wash. Wash the edge of the rectangle with the egg and place top rectangle on. Press out the air and seal the edges. Using a fork or a crimper, crimp the edges of the pop tart.

Brush the top of the pop tart with the egg wash and using a toothpick, poke air holes. Place tart in an oiled air fryer basket and cook on 350° for 6 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool to room temp and then ice and sprinkle the tart.

Substitutions

If you can’t use Nutella, but want a different alternative, there are a few things you can use.

Instead of Nutella – Hey, Hey Hazelnut, Hershey’s Chocolate, NutiLight, Barefoot and Chocolate

Instead of Chocolate Sprinkles – If you can’t use the sprinkles mentioned in this recipe, you could always make your own or put Funfetti sprinkles on top of the pop tarts!

Can up the flavors by using your favorite jam, preserves or jelly.
For best results do not overcrowd your air fryer. It’s best to cook one pop tart at a time. 
The glaze will be thin, but will harden after it sits. If the glaze is your favorite part you can double glaze your pop tart.
