Equipment

  • stand mixer
  • piping bag
  • Rubber Spatula

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl using the whisk attachment, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar on low until the powdered sugar is completely incorporated. Scrape down the sides.
  • To the cream cheese frosting, add the vanilla and salt and beat until blended. Scrape down the sides. Then, increase the speed to medium and beat until fluffy.

Notes

  • Make sure that you use fully room temperature cream cheese for the fluffiest frosting.
  • Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl while it's mixing for best results.
  • This frosting is great on top of cakes, cupcakes, and cinnamon rolls. Plus, you can use it on cookies.
  • Keep the frosting in the fridge to keep it cool and stable.
  • This frosting will melt in the heat, so I don't recommend it for summer parties.
