Equipment

  • medium saucepan
  • 9x9 baking dish
  • aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces chocolate frosting
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions

  • Line a 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and butter together, stirring frequently until smooth.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the chocolate frosting, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  • If desired, fold in chopped nuts for added texture.
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  • Once chilled, use the parchment paper or aluminum foil overhang to lift the fudge from the baking dish. Place it on a cutting board and cut into 16 squares.
  • Store the chocolate fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy the creamy, chocolatey goodness!

Notes

For even cutting, use the aluminum foil to remove the fudge from the pan. You could also use parchment paper for the same purpose.
