In a medium bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt until smooth.
Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken, turning each piece to coat well.
Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and baste the chicken with the sauce from the pan.
Bake uncovered for 10 to 20 more minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is thick and bubbling.
For extra caramelization, baste the chicken again and broil for 2 to 3 minutes, watching closely so the sugar doesn't burn.
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then spoon the extra pan sauce over the top before serving.
