For the Dough:
- 1 cup warm milk 110°F
- 2 ¼ teaspoons 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 medium ripe banana mashed
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or banana extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
For the Filling:
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add mashed banana, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Roll out dough into a 12x18-inch rectangle. Spread the butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with the brown sugar mixture and nuts, if using.
Roll up tightly from the long side and slice into 12 rolls. Place in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30–45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 22–25 minutes, until golden brown.
Whisk together powdered sugar, cream cheese, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Garnish with additional nuts if desired.
