Krispy Kreme fans, get ready for a colorful surprise. The chain is giving its classic Original Glazed donuts a bold makeover, and for one day only, they’ll be coated in bright orange glaze.

The limited-time switch is happening October 3, when stores nationwide will serve their iconic hot-off-the-line donuts in an eye-popping orange hue. The company teased the change on Instagram with the caption: “Orange you ready? On 10/3 ONLY, we’re celebrating all things 12!”

So why the color change? It’s part of a playful marketing push designed to grab attention, spark social media buzz, and get fans rushing in before the special glaze disappears. While Krispy Kreme hasn’t revealed every detail behind the “12” reference, it’s clear the one-day promotion is a nod toward Taylor Swift’s new album!

Food brands have leaned into color-shifting campaigns before, think green bagels for St. Patrick’s Day or purple ketchup in the early 2000s, and Krispy Kreme is no stranger to holiday-themed treats. This latest twist puts their most famous donut in the spotlight with a seasonal, Halloween-ready shade.

One thing that won’t change? The flavor. The orange glaze is purely cosmetic, so fans can expect the same melt-in-your-mouth sweetness Krispy Kreme is known for.

If you’re a die-hard donut lover or just want to snap a photo for Instagram, you’ll have to act fast. The orange glazed donuts will only be available on October 3, and then it’s back to business as usual.
