Equipment

  • 8x8 baking pan

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup chocolate chips I used milk chocolate chips

To Decorate:

  • sugar eyes
  • tempered and melted dark chocolate or chocolate ganache

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 325ºF (163ºC).
  • Lightly grease an 8✕8-inch square metal baking pan with olive oil. • Place a parchment paper on it.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch and baking soda.
  • Using a large bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add cocoa powder, whisk until smooth and glossy, about 1 minute.
  • Add flour mixture to cocoa mixture and mix, using a spatula, until combined. • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Scrape batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Let brownies cool completely before decorating with chocolate ganache and sugar eyes.
