How to Save on Local Memberships
Memberships are a great way to save everyday! Memberships are just simply telling the company you are loyal to them. Because you are a loyal customer, memberships tend to give you cash back, points, or discounts on what you purchase. Local memberships are ways you can support your local business. But, some memberships cost money, so here is how you can save on a local membership:
Sign up for any Free Membership
First and foremost, no matter how often you shop somewhere, if the membership is free, sign up for it! For example, being a loyal customer of Walgreens or CVS does not cost you a penny to start up, but you get coupons, discounts, and so much more. And, it only takes about 5-minutes of your time.
Look for Discounted Memberships Online
Some memberships cost money like Sam’s Club or Cotsco. If you purchase a membership to these companies online, you can typically score some great deals especially if you use Groupon coupons. For example, the promotion right now is if you sign up for a membership, you get a $20 gift card.
Go in with Someone Else
When you purchase a membership, you usually get two or three membership cards. Instead of paying for the whole membership on your own, go in with a friend. You can both get a membership card for half the price. This works for grocery membership as well as gym memberships. With a gym membership, you may have to both go together, but we all need an accountability partner.
Ask about Special Promotions
You can always call a company to ask for a special rate or promotion. The worst they can say is no, but usually managers will be accommodating at getting you a membership at the price you can pay. If you have a blog, you can sometimes get a free membership just by posting about the company on your blog. It never hurts to ask.
Also, keep in mind that they may have membership discounts depending on other factors. For example:
- Military discounts
- AAA discounts
- MLA discounts
- Free/Reduced child Lunch discounts
If you aren’t sure if you qualify for a special discount, ask what discounts they offer for anyone.
