I donโ€™t know about you but my daughter always gets excited about cake batter.  When we make a trip to an ice cream shop she wants a scoop of cake batter ice cream.  Itโ€™s her go to dessert.   I wanted to make a fun dessert for Easter that I knew she would eat, so I took her favorite cake batter cheese ball and turned it into a bunny butt shaped Easter dessert.

Can I pasteurizing the flour first

If you want to pasteurize your raw flour before consuming I have two different steps for you to do so without compromising this recipe.

  1. Place flour or cake mix in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave until the flour or cake mix reaches a temperature of 165 degrees.  It takes about one minutes to achieve this temperature but can take as long as three minutes depending on your microwave wattage.
  2. The second way to pasteurize your flour is to heat in the oven.  Add your flour or cake mix to a baking sheet.  Preheat your oven to 300 degrees and bake for about 10 minutes.  You will want your flour or cake mix to reach the temperature of 165 degrees.  Be very careful when baking it in the oven as you donโ€™t want your flour or cake mix to brown as that will change the taste of your cheeseball.

How to Store Funfetti Bunny Butt Cheese Ball

You can make your cheese ball up to 24 hours in advance. However, I donโ€™t recommend making it more than that. You donโ€™t want moisture to soften your cheese ball too much; it wonโ€™t hold itโ€™s shape.  Be sure to keep your cheese ball in the fridge until you are ready to soften it to serve.  Keep your cheese ball tightly covered and sealed until ready to serve.
